In a few years, the US space agency NASA will launch a joint mission to Mars, Venus and the moon with the Indian space agency ISRO. Those missions will not be limited to just sending a few research instruments into each other’s spaceships. They will literally be joint operations. This is exactly what NASA is now doing in a joint space mission with the European Space Agency (ESA).
This was stated by Adam Steltzner, Chief Engineer, NASA’s chief pilot of the Mars Expedition Mars (Mars 2020 Rover Perseverance). In an exclusive telephone interview with Anandabazar Digital from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena.
ISRO’s Performance Just Amazing
The way in which ISRO has begun to prioritize the study of science and technology in space has been lauded by NASA’s main missionary this time around.
“ISRO’s performance is just amazing,” Steltzner said. ISRO’s work has taken us by surprise. In such a short period of time, ISRO is able to take its place among the first two or three countries in the world in space research at such a fast pace. All the countries that pioneered space exploration in the world today look at ISRO with respect and reverence. And it has been only 20/25 years. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. “
NASA and ISRO will go on a joint mission to the moon and Mars
According to Steltzner, NASA and ISRO have already established excellent cooperation in a number of missions, such as Nisar and CMB India. And in five / seven years it is going to grow so much that it will catch everyone’s eye.
In Steltzner’s words, “I can see the picture of that future right now. Because his preparations have been going on for the last few years. NASA and ISRO may go on a joint mission to the moon and Mars in the coming days. There is a possibility of a joint operation on Venus as well.
ISRO could go on a joint mission to the moon and Mars in the next decade, perhaps only with NASA, the Japanese space agency JAXA, ESA, and even the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
Space is not for anyone alone, it is for the whole civilization…..
Steltzner told Anandabazar Digital that the mission of human civilization in space started with tough competition. The reason was the political reality of the time. But from the experience of different space missions in different countries over the last 60 years, it has become clear that it would be a big mistake for any country or any particular alliance to consider space as their ‘own territory’. Remember, space is the future of the whole civilization. The world is rapidly running out of mineral resources. The fuel is running out. There is an urgent need to save the earth’s environment from conventional fuels. It can be easily extracted at low cost, as well as precious metals such as gold, diamonds and platinum.
Not Competition, Cooperations, Collaboration: Steltzner
In Steltzner’s words, “We know more about competition. We just need more cooperation, more and more collaborations. If we want to get rid of all the crises, civilization has to depend on space. And for that, the space research institutes of different countries have to move away from the path of competition and rivalry. More and more cooperation, understanding, companionship will be needed. More mutual understanding, more dependence. “
Singing rock and roll in the mind majal space!
Steltzner said he had not been interested in space since childhood. The song was fun most of the day and night. Rock and roll was a favorite too. Rock and roll artists would come running to hear their songs. One day he became a rock and roll singer. Performer. At that time he was twenty years old. Studying in college. Engineering. One night after the stage show, he was returning home tired. Suddenly the eyes went to the ‘Ryan’ constellation in the sky. He stared in amazement for a long time.
“I don’t know where that hour has gone,” he said. Sambit returned after receiving his mother’s call. Mother wanted to know when I would return home. As soon as I returned home, I decided that this time I would surrender myself to reach space. After that he started studying space. I have been in important positions in various big missions of NASA for the last 15/20 years. He is now 55 years old. I was appointed chief engineer of the Mars 2020 rover Perseverance. “
This time the Mars mission is absolutely fancy
With this mission, NASA is going to send a total of 9 landers and 5 rovers to Mars in the last 45 years. “But this time our Mars mission is absolutely fancy. There will be a few experiments that have not been done in previous campaigns. Pebbles and stones scattered on Mars will be collected. Which will be brought back to Earth later, for research.
This time the expedition will also test whether it is possible to make all the necessary things on Mars so that people can not only enter the next day but also spend some days on the red planet safely. All this has not happened in any previous campaign. Helicopters will be flown to another planet, this is the first time. The idea first came to the mind of an Indian (J. Bob Balram), “said Steltzner.
That night, 35 years ago, on the way home from a rock and roll stage show, Steltzner’s life changed dramatically. This time NASA’s Mars mission may also be a milestone for humans to land on the Red Planet.Which will start after 15 years. US female astronaut touches Mars
